49th Meeting of the Directing Council of PAIGH sends a video presentation on the SALB to its Members

The Pan American Institute for Geography and History (PAIGH) held its 49th Meeting of the Directing Council on 20 November 2019 in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Directing Council approved eleven resolutions amongst other: the 2020 Budget program, academic grants and study visits, priorities for Technical assistance, the Geoportal and on the authorization for making agreements about the use of The Integrated Maps of America.

Following on the collaboration between the PAIGH and the SALB programme which started in May this year, the General Secretariat distributed a video presentation on the SALB to the National Sections of its 21 Member States. The presentation intended to introduce the SALB programme to the Members of the PAIGH. The General Secretariat’s goal, through its Secretary, Mr. Cesar Rodriguez Tomeo, is to increase in 2020 the number of Member States of PAIGH participating to the SALB programme and sending their data.

Countries such as Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, the United States and Uruguay have already sent data to the programme with some already available for download from the website.
